Visitor's Guide

What to Expect at the Farm

What to expect at the sculpture farm?

  • Outdoor Sculpture Trail: Our sculpture trails are over 2 kilometres long and continuously expanding and changing. We rotate which sections are open depending on the season and weather. You will have a different experience and view different pieces on every visit.

  • Meet the artist Stanley Mutanga will be visiting us for the second time this summer. He will be in the gallery most days to interact with visitors, explain the artwork, and offer carving demonstrations. You can also book a week-long carving workshop with Stanley.

  • Home Gallery We have an indoor gallery space in part of our 200-year-old home and attached barn. This year we are exhibiting paintings from Canadian and international artists in addition to sculpture.

  • Spend time with friends & family: bring a picnic basket and enjoy the natural surroundings, or relax on one of our park benches to enjoy a leisurely conversation.
  • Most visitors stay about 2 hours.
  • Some people linger all day to hike, take pictures, draw or paint.
  • Plan for the outdoors and the weather.
  • Long pants, long sleeves and closed shoes or boots are recommended.

The sculpture farm is in a natural setting. Bring water, bug repellant and sun screen if needed.

  • You can reschedule with the link in your confirmation email. It's easy and free.
  • You can still come if it rains! Bring rain boots and an umbrella. We also have umbrellas for you to borrow. Rain can make for an unparalleled viewing experience.
  • If it rains while you are here, seek shelter in our indoor gallery space or ask for an umbrella.

It is easy and free to reschedule:

  • Use the link in your confirmation email.
  • It really helps us if you book early. You can always reschedule later.
  • Even if we sell out of tickets, you will still be able to reschedule.

Our trails are on mostly level grass and dirt paths, but you might might find roots, stones and uneven ground. People with all-terrain wheelchairs manage well. We also have many chairs, benches and other places to rest.

The indoor gallery was built at a time when little thought was given to mobility challenges. To access the indoor gallery you will need to be able to negotiate two or three stairs. We are working to increase accessibility, but we are not quite there yet.

  • We give all visitors a guided tour. Pre-booking helps us control the number of people in the gallery and ensures someone will be available to greet each and every guest.

  • Use our online booking system to schedule in advance. You can book on the same day that you come. Also, you can easily change the date and time of your booking. So don't wait, book now! It really helps the gallery when you book as soon as possible.
  • If possible, we appreciate carpooling because it reduces traffic and inconvenience for neighbours on our long, shared, narrow laneway.
  • When you arrive, look for signs telling you where to park.
  • It is expensive and time consuming to maintain the grounds and extensive trail system. Your admission fee helps us take care of the gallery.

  • Show support by booking early. You can easily reschedule if needed.

  • We offer discounted admission if needed. We want to make sure this experience is accessible to everyone, regardless of finances. Please contact us for information on reduced-price tickets.

Yes, but pets MUST be on leash at all times. Also, please clean up after your pet.
