Double-sided scutch hammer

This lightweight scutch hammer accepts one inch scutch combs. Tool is used like a hammer, but instead of being blunt, the striking end wields sharp, multi-pointed metal bits called scutch combs. These hammers are used for putting texture and for removing material. This is one of the most important tools in the Zimbabwean method of stone sculpture, and is primarily sourced from Great Britain where it traditionally features in the mason's toolkit.
